Udupi: As many as 216 people in the district have tested positive for Covid-19 and the total number of cases in Udupi stood at 12,727 on Sunday.

The total number of Covid deaths remains at 112 as no deaths were reported on Sunday.

A total of 938 swab samples were collected for testing and the reports of 350 swab samples are pending for results. As many as 10,763 have been discharged from hospitals and from home isolation. The district has 1,852 active cases.

Out of 216 cases, 96 are asymptomatic and 120 are symptomatic. Of the new cases, 137 are from Udupi, 43 are from Kundapur and 31 are from Karkala respectively. Five infected are from outside the district.

The sources of infection of 40 cases are under investigation, while 74 cases are from primary and secondary contacts. Seven people have domestic travel history.
