Mangaluru/Udupi: As many as 12 people including two women tested positive for Covid-19 in Dakshina Kannada, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases in the district to 435 on Monday.
Of the 269 samples collected, 12 samples had tested positive. As many as 11 Covid positive people were returnees from Qatar (flight on June 19), Kuwait (flight on June 17), Muscat (June 17), Saudi Arabia (June 15) and Sharjah (June 15). A 27-year-old youth from Mangaluru (P 9209) who had Influenza-like Illness (ILI) was admitted in Covid Wenlock Hospital on Monday.
Twelve men in the age group of 25 to 58 years, who had recovered from Covid-19, were discharged on Thursday. So far, 250 patients have been discharged from the hospital.
Test results awaited
As many as 14 patients tested positive for Covid-19 in the district on Monday, with the total number of cases increasing to 1,077. The results of 212 swab samples are awaited.
A total of 969 patients recovered and were discharged. As many as 108 cases are active. Out of the total 13,424 samples tested, 12,135 had tested negative.
Those testing positive for Covid-19 include a police person attached to Byndoor police station and a health worker from Shiroor primary health centre. The result of 67 samples was received, of which 53 were negative on Monday. As many as eight infected had travel history in Maharashtra, said sources.
