Sirsi: "Survey for having railway connectivity to the upper ghat taluks of Uttara Kannada district will begin shortly. An order has been issued to conduct a survey to review the Talguppa-Siddapur-Sirsi- Mundgod-Tadas-Hubballi route and Rs 79 lakh has been approved for this," informed Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri,

He told reporters that he met Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi a few days back and urged him to implement the long-pending railway project which will benefit the upper ghat taluks. 

He said that the demand of the people will not fulfil in case a railway line was laid between Talguppa and Siddpaur. So, laying a new railway line between Talguppa and Hubballi has been proposed.
