Udupi: District In-charge Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that measures will be taken for adequate supply of oxygen and Remdesivir in the district.
Speaking at a meeting held to review the Covid-19 situation in the district via video conference, the minister instructed the district administration to update him on a daily basis on the availability of oxygen and Remdesivir. The infrastructures should be used judiciously.
He said if the infected are not able to be accommodated in the house due to lack of facilities, they should be shifted to Covid Care Centres.
The Covid Care Centres should be opened in all taluks. Group ‘D’ workers should be appointed at the Covid Care Centres apart from doctors and caregivers. The Ayush doctors can be taken on contractual basis.
He insisted on reserving beds for SARI and ILI patients. The district government hospital should increase 10 additional ICU beds.
The beds reserved for Covid patients in KMC and TMA Pai Hospital should be increased.
The district administration can support private hospitals with ventilators from the government. The second dose of vaccine should be effectively carried out.
Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Naveen Bhat should be looking into the functioning of the Covid Task Force set up in rural areas. Home isolation of the patients at villages should be closely monitored, he insisted.
MP Shobha Karandlaje said that the deputy commissioner should make use of CSR funds of the corporate companies to install oxygen plants and to purchase medical equipment in the district.
