Karwar: "It is not my duty to build a super speciality hospital. It is state government's work", says five-time Member of Parliament of Uttara Kannada and former Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde.
A group of youths on Sunday, 23rd June, met MP Anantkumar at Karwar IB and submitted a memorandum demanding super speciality hospital in the district. They demanded that there is a need of Trauma centre and a well-equipped ambulance in the district before having a super speciality hospital.
Responding to the memorandum, MP Anantkumar said that the central government can provide necessary assistance if the state health department issues the proposal of the hospital.
However, when presspersons questioned Hegde in this regard, he reacted to it rudely asking them to build super speciality hospital by themselves if they need it.
It shall be noted that following the online campaign demanding hospital in Uttara Kannada district, people of Kodagu district too started similar campaign, where they got a positive response from their respective MP, who is trying hard to fulfill the dreams of his constituency people by bringing the hospital in the region.
