Mangaluru: MLA U T Khader accused the government of failing to take the issue of Covid-19 pandemic seriously despite being warned about the second wave by the experts.

There was no clarity when the Covid-19 cases were reported in the country a year ago. Yet people were cautious. The experts had warned of second wave. But government woke up to the crisis much late, he told media persons.

Though the government had promised not to impose lockdown a few days ago, it has imposed undeclared lockdown suddenly. The decision to restrict activities is nothing but a tactic to hide the failure of the government, he alleged.

People are confused with changes in the circulars issued by the government. There is fear among people, he said.
