‘Get approval for various developmental works before October 31’

Karwar: Zilla Panchayat President Jayashree Moger has directed the officials concerned to submit an estimation report of the works related to the Panchayat Raj Department and Rural Drinking Water Scheme and get the approval before October 31.

She noted this while speaking after chairing the progress review meeting held at Zilla Panchayat auditorium in Karwar on Friday.

She said, already approval has been given for action plans of many developmental works of various departments. If the preparation of the estimation report was delayed, the completion of works will also be delayed.

As there is an urgent need for good road connectivity and drinking water facilities, works related to the construction of roads and drinking water works must be implemented soon, she added

Meanwhile, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Md Roshan gathered the information of action plans of various departments and said, all the approved action plans must be submitted to the engineering section for the preparation of an estimation reports and the officials of engineering section should prepare the estimation report at the earliest, he directed.

According to the rule, of the total funds of all departments, certain percent should be reserved for the welfare of physically challenged, he said and added that at present, three-wheeler vehicles are being distributed to the specially-abled.

The CEO asked the Directorate of Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizen officer to submit an action plan if there are any plans for taking up community works.

The progress of agriculture, horticulture, education, and sports departments were reviewed. 

Zilla Panchayat Vice-president Santosh Renake, Education & Health Standing Committee President Ratnakar Naik, Agriculture & Industries Standing Committee President Sanjay Maruti Hanabar, and others were present.
