Mangaluru: Urban Development Minister B A Basavaraj (Byrathi) directed Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh to expedite works planned under Smart City Mission in Mangaluru.
He was addressing the gathering while reviewing the developmental works in Mangaluru on Saturday.
MSCL Managing Director D Mohammed Nazir said that a detailed project report (DPR) for the waterfront development works from Netharavathi bridge covering 2.1 km stretch was ready.
Cycle track, walking track, pedestrian way, kiosk and garden will come up as a part of the project. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 150 crore. The DPR will be placed before the board of MSCL for approval on March 2.
When superintending engineer Ganesh informed that 40 works under SFC grants of 2017-18 were yet to complete, the minister took him to the task. The officer promised to complete the work by March 31.
