Mangaluru: A 27-year-old youth who died of breathing problems in Banglagudda in Surathkal tested negative for Covid-19.
After the death of the youth on Tuesday, fear had gripped the area. Suspecting Covid- 19, his throat swab samples were collected, said Mangaluru North MLA
Dr Y Bharath Shetty. Now, the test had proved negative for Covid-19.
It is said that the youth had collapsed suddenly on Tuesday evening. Though he was rushed to a hospital, the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
As he was suffering from breathlessness, health department collected throat swab samples for testing.
The youth died of Appendicitis, the results confirmed. Suspecting Covid-19 infection, the body was
not handed over to the family. After the sample tested negative, the youth’s
body was handed over to his family for last rites on Wednesday, informed sources in the district administration.
