Bhatkal: A 29-year old youth was killed on the spot when a private bus hit the bike on which he was riding on the national highway near Venkatapur in the taluk on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh Moger, a resident of Karikal in the taluk. He was running a mobile shop at Malpe in Udupi.

The incident took place when he was returning from Shirali and a private bus heading towards Hubballi from Mangaluru hit the bike from the front. 

Rural Station PSI Ravi visited the spot and registered a case in this regard.
