Yellapur: As many as 35 people were injured when the NWKRTC bus they were traveling in hit a road-side mound due to over speeding at a highway turn near Artibail on Monday.
The bus was on its way to Yellapur from Kalache and a majority of the passengers in it were students studying in Yellapur town. Around 29 students, four other passengers, the driver and the conductor were injured.

Meanwhile, District Auto Drivers & Owners’ Association President Santosh Naik who was passing through the route where the accident took place, shifted some of the injured passengers to the government hospital in his vehicle, showing humanity.
No mobile signal
The local people complained that the number of road accidents between Arbail and Yellapur had increased and the injured cannot even call the ambulance or others for help as there is no availability of mobile signal in that area. They have urged that authorities concerned to ensure that mobile signal is obtained at least throughout the highway stretch.
