Yellapur: The loss of control over the vehicle turned nasty when a speedy tractor overturned resulting in the death of its driver. The incident occurred near Kannigeri of Yellapur taluk in the early evening of 9th March, Thursday.

The deceased driver has been identified as Dattatreya Siddi, a resident of Maagod. Sources said that he was on the way towards Haliyal road when the accident took place. Lack of negligence in driving made the driver lose control over his vehicle which toppled.

The driver was severely injured, after which he was immediately rushed to Yellapur's private hospital. He was later taken to Hubli for further treatment but succumbed to his injuries on the same night.

A case has been registered by PSI A.Y Kamble and investigations are on.
