Yellapur: The Yellapur police in a swift operation at Arabail Ghat on Tuesday have nabbed inter-state dacoity gang and have recovered vehicles, mobile phones, cash and jewelry from their possession.

Police said that several complaints were registered of dacoity at Arabail Ghat in the last one month. On October 2, a gang of eight persons had waylaid a car and robbed Rs 2.11 crore cash, mobile phones and other valuables.

A complaint was filed by the car driver on October 4. A special team was formed to nab the dacoits and Tuesday, the special team of officials arrested three persons.

Arrested

The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Kabir Mainuddin Haji (30) of Kasargodu, Subhash Radhakrishnan (26) of Palkad in Kerala, Appu Vijaykrishnan (25) also from Palkad. The police have recovered three cars and cash amounting Rs 19.98 lakh from them.

Police suspect that more than 20 persons are involved in the dacoity and a manhunt has been launched to nab them.
