Five animals die, various properties damaged after heavy rain in Ankola

Ankola: Various parts of Ankola taluk and border of Yellapur, including Malkam, Satinbail, and Halvalli were badly affected due to heavy rain and thunderstorm that hit on 7th September, Thursday here at Ankola. As a result of the incident, five animals were reportedly killed and many houses, fields, and gardens were damaged.

The common life twisted into struggles after the immediate change of weather that witnessed in Halvalli, Malkam, and Satinbail of Dongri gram panchayat limits in Ankola taluk. House belonging to a person named Ram Siddi was completely collapsed after a huge tree fell on it. Another house belonging to Savita Subray Siddi was damaged, and around five animals were died. A Cow was reportedly injured, while two other animals from the shed were missing. Many houses in the region were affected. Couple of trees were seen fallen on the road passing in between Dongri to Halvalli, to which the travelers faced difficulties.

President of Dongri gram panchayat Gopana Vaidya, PDO Girish Naik, local authorities and others rushed to the spot and studied the incident.
