Bhatkal: A woman was seriously injured in a road accident involving a collision between car and a trax on National Highway opposite to Nishat Nursing Home in Bhatkal. Two others sustained minor injuries.

The injured, identified as BB Ayesha, her son Amirullah and sister-in-law Ghousia Bibi, were on their way to Kundapur from Honnavar when their car collided with a Trax coming from the opposite direction in front of Nishat Nursing Home. Ghousia Bibi (32) was critically injured in the accident and was shifted to Mangalore after first aid at Bhatkal Government Hospital. The Trax was going from Mangalore to Hubli. The front portion of both the vehicles were severely damaged in the crash.

The accident caused a traffic jam on the highway for a while, but police rushed to the spot, with the help of locals and a crane, pulled the car over and restored the traffic system. A large number of people had also gathered and rushed the injured to the hospital.
