Bhatkal: The number of novel Coronavirus cases in Bhatkal has climbed to 8 after one more fresh case was confirmed on Tuesday.

The total number of Coronavirus cases rised to 8 at 8:00 AM on Tuesday.

A 26-year-old youth (P98) who came to Bhatkal from Dubai via Goa International Airport on March 20 was confirmed with positive case of Covid-19,  resulting in a total of 98 cases of infection in the Karnataka state, according to media bulletin released by Karnataka government.

He (P98) had arrived from Dubai along with his 22-Year-old brother, who was earlier infected (P62).

The 26-year-old patient (P98) arrived at the Goa airport on March 20 with an infected brother (P62) from Dubai.  From there, along with his brother and three other people, including a woman, were along with the infected. The five of them had breakfast at a Hotel in Karwar and headed to Bhatkal in their car.  The youth was under home quarantine since then. On suspicion, his throat swab was sent for testing. The report on Tuesday confirmed that the youth is infected with Covid-19.  Thereby, a total of 8 cases in Bhatkal have been reported to have Covid-19 infection.
