Hubballi: Karnataka Revenue Minister, Mr. R. Ashok said today that that so far more than 35,000 applications received from people relating to various issues such as payment of pensions, grant of allowances to physically challenged persons, Land Transfers and Family welfare payments Etc., during the Village Camps held in the Rural areas in the State have been cleared and the number is expected to increase and the Administration is ready to handle them.
Addressing a press conference this evening at Chebbi Village near here, where the Minister is on a Grama Vastavyya (Village Camp) as part of a State wide scheme called Jilladhikarigal Nade Halliya kade, to solve the problems of the people in the Rural Areas at their Door Steps and on the spot, the Scheme is gaining popularity and soon he is going to have his third Village camp in Yadagiri District. Referring to the requests being received by the elected representatives to hold similar village camps, he said actions are being taken to find a way to meet their demands.
He said that a total amount of Rupees 800 Crores available at the Deputy Commissioner's account in the State which will be used to provide relief to thoe who have lost their houses during last year's floods without any delay.
Stating that more than 20,000 Applications have been received three months after the floods, Mr. Ashok said that the affected people will be provided financial help in instalments to help them build new houses.
He said that there is No proposal before the government to impose Lock down at the moment in view of the increasing Covid-19 cases. He said Covid-19 Related rules ad regulation are being strictly followed in all the 230 Village camps that are being held today all over the State.
He said that following the demands, 2032 new Surveyers will be appointed soon to meet to speed up the Land survey work in the State. The Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Rupees 24.Croes Ambedkar Student Hostel and also laid the foundation for a Rupees 20 Lakhs Nada Kacheri (Rural office) and also distributed Wheel Chairs and Earing-aid Kits to the beneficiaries during his day long Programmes.
