Karwar: As many as 16 labourers were injured when the vehicle ferrying them overturned near Haruvalli in Mundgod taluk on Thursday.

Ten of the injured were rushed to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubballi and six to the Mundgod Taluk Hospital. According to the police, the accident occurred due to a tire blast.

All the injured are from Elevala village in Hangal taluk of Haveri district and the accident occurred when they were being taken to a farm at Byrumber village in Yellapur taluk. Mundgod police have registered a case.
