Karwar: The Tourism Department has ordered an immediate suspension of boating, water sports, scuba diving, and pre-wedding setup activities across multiple coastal and backwater tourist destinations in Uttara Kannada district.

The suspension covers Gokarna Main Beach, Om Beach, Kudle Beach, Half Moon Beach, Paradise Beach, Murdeshwar Beach, Karwar Beach, and water sports at Netrani Island. Boating activities in Tadadi-Aghanashini river backwaters, Sharavathi backwaters in Honnavar and Kasarkod, and other approved sites have also been halted.

The decision follows weather alerts issued by the India Meteorological Department warning of cyclone conditions and strong winds, along with the onset of the monsoon season.
