Uttara Kannada Deaf Association to host T20 Cricket tournament for Men and Women in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: Uttara Kannada District Deaf Association, under the guidance of Karnataka Sports Federation of Deaf, Bengaluru will be hosting  8th Karnataka State Deaf T20 Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament for Men and Women from 18th November 2022 in Bhatkal.

Issuing a press release, it was stated, keeping the tradition alive and providing a scope for the youth to participate in cricket and display their skills, the tournament have been introduced, which will be played in Bhatkal. The opening ceremony will be held on 18th November 2022 at 10.00 AM at Anjuman ground, Anjumanabad, Bhatkal in which Karnataka Labour Minister Shivaram Hebbar, Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner Mamatha Devi GS, and Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik will be sharing the stage. The closing ceremony will take place at Taluka Stadium (YMSA Ground), Nawayath Colony, Bhatkal on 20th November 2022 at 5.00 PM in which Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik, former MLA Mankal Vaidya, Tanzeem President Inayatullah Shabandari and many other dignitaries will grace the event. 

Teams from all over Karnataka will be participating in this tournament. The teams will play 32 matches in two grounds. There are attractive prizes in the tournament. The winner teams of Men will get INR 25,000 while runners up will take home INR 15,000. Winners among the women's team will get INR 8,000 and runner-up will get INR 5,000. There are individual prizes for each match with Man of the Match and Woman of the Match, while the finals will have prizes for Best Batsman, Best Bowler as well as Best All-rounder.

At the pressmeet, Patron Abdus Salam Shabandari, Uttara Kannada District Deaf Association President Honnayya Moger, Secretary Yousuf Motiya, Yashavant Naik, Soban Armar and Sadath Hussain Kola were present.
