Bhatkal: An heated argument aroused​ at the monthly meeting of Jali pattan panchayat between the panchayat president and members regarding the developmental works and planning procedures along with aid distribution. Issues were also caused due to the ward members, who started commotion when they were reportedly ignored.

According to sources, the officers lost their silence when the panchayat president was accused by the members for paying negligence towards their involvement during the fixation of approved amount for action plan and developmental works.

The approved amount for construction of road, water supply and drainage is insufficient for respective wards and the appointed employees of panchayat are being irresponsible towards the supply of water. When president Abdur Rahim tried to answer the queries, it backfired and the members called him ignorant and this made an heated arguments take place between members and the president. Which inturn made president go out of control to use verbal words in the meeting. At this moment, the members were upset and discontent with his presidency, when an foul language was heard through him.

The members rejected the allotted amount for action plan and said they would go to the superiors to discuss this matter.

The Panchayat Vice-president Lakshmi Mahadev Naik, Standing committee chairman Adam, Chief Officer Venkatesh and others were also present at the meeting.
