Udupi: A 28-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her jilted lover at Santhekatte junction on Monday.

Sources in Udupi Town Police station said that the victim identified as Soumyashree Bhandari succumbed on the way to hospital. The jilted lover identified as Sandesh, later attempted suicide and was shifted to ICU in KMC, Manipal.

Sowmyashree worked in Bank of Baroda and was engaged to another person, a week ago. Police sources said the accused Sandesh was in a relationship with her. A case was registered by Udupi Town Police station.
