Udupi:  Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao directed tahsildars to dispose of applications received during the special summary revision of electoral rolls in a systematic manner.

The DC, addressing officials at the meeting, directed officials to scrutinise applications received from the public and give acknowledgment to applications filed online, maintain transparency and dispose of the applications within a stipulated period.

Rao said that during the special summary revision of electoral rolls in the district, the district administration had received 35,907 applications.

As many as 16,804 new voters had applied for inclusion of names, 5,783 for removal of names from voters' list and 13,320 for necessary changes to be made in the voters' list.
