Udupi: 93% children receive Polio drops

Udupi: Polio drops were administered to 78,123 out of 85,562 children in Udupi district by Personnel of the Department of Health and Family Welfare and volunteers of various organisations on 30th April, Sunday in the second round of the pulse polio immunisation drive.

According to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, polio drops were given to 34,465 children out of the 38,287 children in Udupi taluk.

In Kundapur taluk, as many as 29,755 children out of 30,046 children were administered the drops where as in Karkala taluk, out of 15,229 children, 13,903 children were delivered the drops.

Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje, President of Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC), inaugurated the campaign at the District Government Children’s and Maternity Hospital here on Sunday.

Rohini, District Health and Family Welfare Officer and Madhusudhan Nayak, District Surgeon, were also present on the occasion.
