Udupi : The  various communities in the society today need to know each other. Hence such a convention is needed for communities to socialize. Prejudiced opinions are widespread among communities in today’s society. It is imperative for communities to mingle with such views, said Dr. Chandra Poojary, Retired Professor of Hampi University.

The elite of the hierarchical structure of society are not letting the backward classes rise. For that reason, Prof Poojary regretted the fact that communities are being kept out of bounds by various means.

Speaking as a special guest and resource person of the “The convention of various communities (Sneha Samavesha)” organized by Udupi District Muslim Okkoota at Amrath Garden Auditorium, Ambagilu near here on Saturday, January 9, Prof Chandra Poojary said that political leaders who speak of community development today need to come up with more than just building temples and religious worshipping places. Hence, those who talk about the community development need to come forward in the society, he said.

No country has developed with infighting or quarrel with communities each other. We have witnessed the conditions of the US, Sri Lanka Pakisthan and other countries. The infighting between communities is not a rule of nature. It is the creation of man. It is a man’s choice not to have fights each other, said Prof. Chandra Poojary.
Prof. Poojary said that the democratic foundations are collapsing today. In a democracy, we have the power to tolerate diversity. Criminals are reigning because of our bravery today. Around 43% elected members of parliament with criminal records and 29% are elected under serious criminal record. These politicians need to divide the society in order to gain political means.

He said that such a situation should be improved the conditions of the grassroots communities. Today, agriculture, health, education and other policies are not in favour of the poor. It is unfortunate that all this is in favour of capitalists. God not created the any religion. But human created the religions. The quarrel between the communities must be stopped for such a situation to develop. The country cannot be built on a rift between communities.
