Udupi: A constable, Prakash who worked at Malpe police station, stands suspended after he defended his pregnant wife from eve teasers.
According to the sources, Prakash visited an ATM to withdraw money on 5th April, Wednesday, while he was on his way home after visiting a clinic with his wife who was pregnant.
At the moment, a person named Kumar and his friend came and teased his wife who was waiting outside the ATM. She immediately went inside the ATM and informed Prakash about it.
Prakash ignored them and took his wife by bike but the duo followed them. When they teased her again and tried to pull her hand, Prakash stopped his bike.
Prakash then sought the help of Hoysala police squad and after the culprits were arrested he allegedly slapped them.

Further, Prakash was suspended on behalf of complaint made by Kumar stating that he was assaulted by constable Prakash in public.
Prakash, in turn, went to Udupi women police station and complained through her wife about the eve teasing incident. She has sought protection from police.
