Mangaluru: Holding three persons accountable for recent jail break at Dakshina Kannada district jail, the Director General of Police and Inspector General of Prisons, H.N. Sathyanarayana Rao, has ordered suspension of two prison wardens and transferred its Superintendent, Krishna Murthy to Bengaluru central jail.

Suresh, who is currently serving at Bengaluru Central Jail, will replace Krishnamurthy. The order was issued on Thursday.

The prisons department had held jail wardens S Kathari and B Rangappa as guilty. The report had mentioned that night duty staff was asleep when Jinappa escaped from the prison. The action was taken on the basis of an inquiry by Belagavi division DIG T P Shesha.
