Bhatkal: Two separate incidents of suicide reported in Bhatkal taluk, in which one has committed suicide by hanging while the other is by consuming poison.

The first incident of suicide came to light on Friday morning 7 AM, where a body of a man was found hanging from a well pole in Hurlisaal near Kargadde.

The deceased has been identified as Ismail Hassan Sab, 55, a resident of Kasarkod in Honnavar taluk. It is said that he was working as a fisherman in Ratnagiri, and was mentally disturbed for the last few days. Currently he was staying at one of the rented house in Hurlisaal in Bhatkal. He was found hanging from a pole of the well in the compound of his house.

The second incident has come to light from Yalvadi Kavoor in the taluk, where a 32-year-old man has committed suicide by consuming poison. The deceased has been identified as Annappa Chanappa Naik. It has been reported that Annappa, a farmer by profession, was worried about his father's and brother's illness and had taken a large loan. It is believed that he took poison out of fear of the situation.

Both the cases have been registered at Bhatkal rural police station.
