Two rowdy-sheeters externed from Uttara Kannada for six months

Bhatkal: Two rowdy-sheeters under the jurisdiction of the Murdeshwar Police Station have been externed from Uttara Kannada district for six months following repeated involvement in criminal activities.

The externment order was issued against Shekhar Manjunath Naik (25) of Mavalli-2 and Mithun Kuppayya Naik (27) of Konar Kerehittal, both of whom had multiple criminal cases registered against them at the Murdeshwar Police Station. Police had also opened rowdy sheets against the duo and kept their movements under surveillance.

According to police, despite preventive action and repeated warnings, the two allegedly continued their criminal activities, posing a threat to public peace and order. Based on a proposal submitted by Murdeshwar police, the Superintendent of Police and Special Executive Magistrate of Uttara Kannada district passed the externment order on May 20 under Sections 55(A) and 55(B) of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963.

As per the order, Shekhar Naik has been externed to the Hosabadavane police station limits in Tumakuru district, while Mithun Naik has been externed to the Gandhi Chowk police station limits in Vijayapura district with immediate effect.
