Mangaluru: Two men accused in Bejai Raja murder case drowned near Maravoor dam here on Tuesday evening.

According to police, Jaison D'Souza and Avinash, both 25, from Panjimogaru, had gone to Maravoor dam. Jaison accidentally slipped and fell in into the river, which was in spate due to downpour in the region. In a bid o rescue him, Avinash too jumped into water. However, both of them were washed away in the heavy currents. The incident occurred around 4pm. Sources claimed that the duo was partying near the dam.

Bajpe police and expert swimmers visited the spot. A search is on to trace the victims. A case has been registered at Bajpe police station.
