Madikeri: Two motorcyclists were killed on the spot in a head-on collision involving a car and two motorcycles in Karnataka’s Kodagu (Coorg) district on Saturday afternoon.

According to sources, the car was travelling from Mysuru towards Gonikoppal via Titimati, while the victims — identified as Shivu Kumar (25), a resident of Nanjangud, and Mohammed Shihab (27) from Palakkad district in Kerala — were riding their respective motorcycles in the opposite direction towards Mysuru.

The accident occurred near Devarapura on the Gonikoppal–Titimati road when the car collided with both motorcycles, resulting in the instant death of the two riders.

On receiving information, Gonikoppal police rushed to the spot, shifted the bodies for post-mortem, and registered a case. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
