Kundapur: One person was killed on the spot, while other five people including two children recieved grievous injuries when the car they were travelling in collided with the another car. The incident reported on the Marvante NH66 near Gangolli of Kundapur taluk on 1st May, Monday. They were then taken to Manipal after providing initial treatments at Kundapur hospital. It is said that, among the injureds, three including four years old kid is serious.
Accident took place when the speedily moving Bangalore registered car went on colliding with Goa registered car, approaching from opposite direction. Immediately, the injured car driver was being taken to Kundapur hospital, but sadly he succumbed to his injuries on the way. He was identified as Dhana Pandyan (37), resident of MG road of Bangalore. The injureds victim of same car were deceased Dhana Pandyan's father, mother, wife and two kids, who are identified as Saroja (55), Kamachi (62), Vasauki (32), Naidreshan (08) and Kamali (04) respectively. All have been shifted to Manipal hospital.
The impact of collision was such a horrible that both the vehicle were seen damaged at the front.
Sources said, the incident reported when Bangalore based family were moving towards Dharmasthala after finishing their holidays visit to Murdeshwar.
As soon as the information spread, a team of Gangolli helpline service and social workers reached the spot and took away the injured victims to Kundapur and Manipal through their ambulance.
A case has been registered at Gangolli police station limits and further investigations are on.
