Riyadh: Training programs for Saudis in combating the menace of drugs through the National Program for Prevention of Drugs (Nibras) will continue for yet another year as per the directives of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier, minister of interior and chairman of the National Committee for Combating Drugs.

“In line with the directives of the Crown Prince, Nibras has signed contracts with 17 training centers,” said Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nibras project Abdulilah Bin Muhammad Al-Sharif.

“These contracts with a number of specialist national companies and establishments in the field of training and education aim to ensure that training programs are in line with international standards so as to come up with capable national manpower to combat drugs,” said Al-Sharif, who is also Secretary General of the National Committee for Combating Drugs, Assistant Director General for Combating Drugs, and international expert at the UN. He said these programs train male and female students, teachers, journalists, imams of mosques, people involved in Da’wa (religious call) work and specialists in health, civil, and military services.

Nibras recently completed more than 45 training courses in which a large number of male and female trainers participated.
