Mangaluru: The Konaje police arrested three people on the charges of sexually harassing female children going to a madrasa.

The arrested are Kiran Kumar (26) of Ugganabail in Pavoor, Gopal (25) of Bangarapade in Ugganabail and Subhash (29) of Vantemaru in Neermaraga. They have been remanded in judicial custody till February 26.

When three female students were on way to a madrasa, the trio on the pretext of seeking address, waylaid them. One of the arrested had caught the hand of one of the girl. The girl, in turn, bit his hand and ran towards the madrasa. The accused had issued a death threat to them before fleeing the spot, police added.

The police have booked cases under Pocso Act and also attempt to kidnap and murder charges.
