Uppinangady: Thieves broke into three churches in Nelyadi and Konalu in Uppinangady region and decamped with cash and cross from two churches. They also made a futile attempt on another church on 10th April, Monday night.

The thieves broke into St. Gregorious Orthodox Syrian Church at Nelyadi and decamped with gold plated cross and Rs.600 from the room of priest Johnson.

The thieves who gained entry into St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church at Arla in Konalu and decamped with Rs 3,000.

In another incident, the thieves gained entry into St. Mary's Church at Konalu. Though they searched for valuables, they did not succeed in finding anything.
