Bhatkal: A thief searching for cash was captured on CCTV camera in one of the shops where three shops located in Murdeshwar beach in the taluk were burgled on Monday night.

According to shopkeeper Muzaffar, the thief broke into his and seven neighbouring shops, but managed to steal the goods from only three shops as he failed to find cash or any other valuables in other shops. 

The shops which were looted belonged to Muzaffar, Sachin, and Ganapathi. The thief made away with WiFi router and Internet Dongle along with few electronic items from Muzaffar's shop. From the neighbouring shops, he took few garments and  toys along with cash amount of 3500 rupees from one shop and 700 rupees from another.

The thief had to return empty handed from rest of the shops as there was no cash amount.

Murdeshwar police rushed to the spot after receiving the information and conducted the necessary investigation.
