Bhatkal: Academic excellency award ceremony was organized by Sultan Youth Welfare Association at Sultani Masjid compound in Bhatkal on Thursday, 16th January, after Asar prayers here. Nearly 25 students were honoured with the awards for their outstanding achievements including Hafiz e Quran, Islamic scholars and Graduates.
Present as the chief guest in the event, HOD of Islamic studies department at Yenepoya University, Mangaluru, addressing the audience, said, if we move towards success then failure also comes along, in these situations it is important that we hold patience actively in our endeavour and this patience leads us to success. Speaking about the economic condition of Muslims, he said that 'Business' is the positive step to improve economic conditions, which is avoided by most of us. In this view, he suggested the audience to also focus on business as we do it for jobs. He said that Muslims have been asked in the Qur'an to pay zakat, which also means that we are strong enough to become capable on the economic level. Dr Javed Jameel told students that if they choose new fields, the chances of success are high.
General Secretary of Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Mian Academy, Bhatkal, Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Jakti Nadvi, said that due to the current educational system, not only dishonest and immoral but also the atheism and apostasy are entering our homes, hence education needs to be linked with religious studies.
Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Bhavikatte, Principal of Anjuman Engineering College, Bhatkal, in his speech, described life as a combination of success and failure and urged students to think positively in both situations.
The program began with the recitation of verses of Holy Qur'an by Maulana Urfa Medikal. SM Syed Parvez welcomed and introduced the guests. Maulana Abubakar Tonse introduced about the activities of the association. SYWA President Aftab Hussain Kola presided the event, while Maulana Abdul Noor Fakarde Nadvi compered the event.
