The pass percentage of the II pre-university supplementary exams conducted in July stands at 20.87. The results, announced on Wednesday, was the lowest recorded in the last six years. Of the total 2.18 lakh candidates, who wrote the supplementary exams, only 45,574 have passed. As per the press release issued by the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE), the pass percentage of girls with 24.66 was higher than that of the boys’ pass percentage, which stood at 18.31. The district that had the highest passes was Udupi with 31.81 per cent, while the lowest was Gadag (15.89 per cent).
The highest passes was in the commerce stream (22 per cent), followed by the science stream (21.81 per cent) and the pass percentage in the arts stream was 19.49.
While the pass percentage of students in the English medium was 22.28, 19.6 per cent who took the Kannada medium test cleared the exam.
Students who wish to apply for scanned copies of the answer scripts should do so by August 2; it costs Rs. 400 per copy. The last date to submit applications for re-evaluation is August 6.
The department has also pointed out that once a candidate applies for re-evaluation and loses marks after it, the student cannot claim the earlier marks obtained in the supplementary exams.
