Riyadh: The Council of Ministers on Monday reiterated its strong condemnation of the continuing brutality in the city of Aleppo where innocent people are exposed to killings, siege, starvation, displacement and the violation of human rights.
The Cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, stressed that the UN Security Council should assume its responsibilities and duties to maintain international peace and security.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Turaifi said the Cabinet expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of terrorist attacks in Aden, the Jordanian city of Karak and near Turkish University of Erciyes.
The Cabinet expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
It reiterated the Kingdom’s stand in the fight against terror in all its forms and manifestations.
The Cabinet also appreciated the King’s directive to take the necessary action to correct the status of Yemenis residing in the Kingdom and holding Visitor’s Identity cards.
It said the directive of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and interior minister, to extend for another six months Yemenis’ Visitor’s Identity cards is an extension of the sincere fraternal stand of the Kingdom for the people of Yemen.
The Cabinet approved a cooperation agreement between the governments of Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan to fight crime.
The Cabinet also approved a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of civil protection and civil defense between the governments of Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
