Karwar: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Minister H K Patil has stated that precautionary measures have been taken to ease the drinking water crisis likely to surface during summer season. There is no dearth of funds to execute drinking water projects, he stated.
Speaking to media persons in Karwar on Thursday, the minsiter said that complaint cells have been set up at taluk headquarters.
During the meeting with deputy commissioners and ZP CEOs, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed them to initiate all measures and see thath there is no drinking water problem.
Last year, water crisis was reported in a few villages in Uttara Kannada and this year, alternate arrangements have been made in these villages.
The government is aiming to make Uttara Kannada, open-defecation-free district by October 2, 2017, he added.
