Bhatkal: A one day state level seminar is going to be held on 12th March, Sunday, at the College Conference Hall on ‘Demonetization- A step towards digital economy’.

The event is jointly organized by department of economy and department of commerce.

About Demonetization:

On 8th November 2016, the government of India announced demonetization of all ₹500 and ₹1000 currency notes. The government claimed that the action would curtail the ‘Shadow Economy’ and crack down on the use of illicit and counterfeit cash used to fund illegal activity and terrorism.

The sudden nature of the announcement and prolonged cash shortages in the weeks that followed, created significant disruptions throughout the economy threatening economic output. The move was heavily criticized as poorly-planned and unfair and led to protests, litigations and strikes.

The present seminar is an endeavor to discuss and highlight various issues related to demonetization and digital transactions.

Registration and accommodation:

The registration fees for participating delegates is ₹100. Interested teachers can confirm the participation by sending duly filled registration form enclosed with the invitation. The DD is to be drawn in favor of ‘The Principal, Anjuman Arts, Science, Commerce College & PG Centre, Anjumanabad, Bhatkal'.
