Hubballi: Ayush Federation Of India (AFI) State unit General Secretary Dr Mahaveer Haveri has urged the State government to start a Homeopathy University in Karnataka.
He noted this while speaking during the World Homeopathy Day programme organised by the Homeopathy Medical Association of India, Hubballi-Dharwad Chapter, here on Sunday, as part of the 262th Birth Anniversary of Samuel Hahnemann, considered as Father of Homeopathy form of treatment. He urged the government to register Ayush and Allopathic doctors separately under the Karnataka Private Medical Institute.
He said, while giving license to the Ayush doctors they should not be considered as commercial purpose. All the Ayush doctors should be given uniform registration certificate across the State, he demanded.
He said, all the district hospitals should have Ayush Department and provide Homeopathy medicines.
'Allot funds'
Dr Mahaveer said, the State government should allot funds for conducting research in the field of Homeopathy medicines. He also asked the government to renovate the two Homeopathy hospitals in Hubballi.
The Homeopathy Medical Association of India, Karnataka State President Veerabramachari urged that there must be at least 25 bed Homeopathy hospital in all the district headquarters of the State, while at taluk-level, there must be 10-bed hospital.
He said, Homeopathy method of treatment has cure for many long term diseases, and there is a need to create awareness among the people in this regard.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, MLA Prasad Abbayya said, he would convey the demands of the association to health minister and chief minister. He said, Homeopathy method of treatment has no side effects and can treat majority of the illness.
