Sirsi: In a gruesome road accident reported between two trucks,  a driver was killed on the spot, which took place in the night of 5th March, Sunday here at Kangod village, which falls between Sirsi-Siddapur highway.

According to the sources, the mishap reported when one of the truck was heading towards Sirsi from Shimoga met with the head-on collision with the other Maharashtra registered truck, which was coming from the opposite direction. As the collision occurred, Shimoga based truck driver was killed on the spot and was identified as Mahantesh. 

Fearing the incident, the Maharashtra based truck driver fled the scene after leaving his truck across the roadside near Ajjibal village in Sirsi taluk.

A case has been registered in rural police station and further investigations are on.
