Sirsi: Sirsi Police have arrested two fraudsters who tried cheating people by posing as ACB inspectors.

The accused have been identified as Murigeppa Ningappa Kumbar (54), a native of Sadalga village in Chikkodi taluk, and Rajanikanth (41) of Mugali in Hassan.

The accused had called Sirsi zilla panchayat engineering department engineer Ramachandra Gaonkar several times between June 24 and 27 last year and placed demand for money introducing themselves as ACB inspectors.

Sirsi police, which taken up the investigation, successfully caught the fraudsters. The police are further investigating their involvement in similar cases.
