Bhatkal: Shoppers from all walks of life are taking turns to visit the much celebrated Bhatkal Ramadan Bazaar. Bringing together people of all faiths, the market on Bhatkal’s main road turns to a shoppers' paradise every evening.

People, especially women, children and youths, are noticed thronging the market leaving no space in the crowd.

Makeshift dry fruit and food stalls with spicy aroma of Kebabs and curries, shops selling bangles, ornaments, garments, decorative articles, home appliances, toys, sandals, utensils etc make the Ramzan market in Bhatkal lively.

Not only Muslims, but also Non-Muslims from Bhatkal and neighbouring towns including Honnavar, Kumta, Byndoor, Kundapur and other places visit the market, giving rise to a festive atmosphere reflecting communal harmony.

To avoid any untoward incident, Bhatkal Police have deployed enough policemen spread across every corner of the market. Police have also placed traffic restrictions in the area to ease pedestrian movement between Bhatkal Municipality and end of the main road near Marikatta. Parking arrangements have been made at the Anjuman School Ground and Government School.
