Shimoga: In a tragic road accident, at least seven people lost their lives, after the car they were traveling in rammed into the lorry near Pasale village of Shimoga taluk in the early hours of 4th May, Thursday. 

The speedily moving car hit the lorry from behind, which was fully loaded with logs of wood. Due to the collision, the wooden logs fell on the car killing all the seven passengers instantly on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Madhu and Praveen of Magadi, Shridar of Bengaluru, Ragvendra of Shikaripur, Manjunath of Chordy, Rajshekar from Sorab, Mallesh of Mandya.

As per the information received, the incident took place when they were on the way to attend a wedding party of their friend in Sagar on Thursday. The impact of the collision was such a horrible that all the wooden logs fell upon their​ car, killing all of them instantly. The car was seen completely crushed under the heavy logs of wood, which was later pulled out using Crane.

Police personnel along with ASP Mutthuraj and DYSP Chandrashekar Shetty rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations. 

In this regard, a case has been registered in Kumasi police station.
