Karwar: A bicycle rider was killed on the spot when a car hit him on NH 66 at Ghotnebag in the taluk on Saturday evening. The deceased has been identified as retired police havaldar Ananth K Kummekar (65), who was heading from Ghotnebag to Majali. Police stopped the car which was moving from Goa to Kerala, and detained the accused.

A case has been registered with Chittakul Police Station.
