Mangaluru: Rain lashed many parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Monday, providing relief to residents from the scorching heat.

Mangaluru received two hours of uninterrupted rain since 5 am.

Mangaluru, Thokkottu, Ullal, Kavoor, Bondel, Bejai and surrounding areas experienced good rainfall.

The power supply was disrupted following the rainfall.

Udupi

In Udupi district, Hebri, Padubidri, Ucchila, Shivapura, Hiriyadka and surrounding areas experienced rain. The muddy water on the roads in Padubidri caused inconvenience to the motorists. 

India Meteorological department has predicted rain or thundershowers towards afternoon or in the evening on Tuesday. Despite rain, Mangaluru on Monday recorded a maximum temperature of 33.6 degree C.
