Mangaluru: Rain lashed various parts of Dakshina Kannada on Sunday. The sky remained overcast throughout the day.

Heavy rain lashed Subrahmanya and Kallugudde. As a result, rivulets overflowed in the region and water entered farmland.

Subrahmanya, Harihara Pallathadka, Kollamogru, Ainekidu, Yenekallu, Balpa, Panja, Kaikamba, Bilinele, Kallugudde, Noojibalthila, Ichlampady, Konaje, Puttur, Mangaluru and surrounding areas experienced good showers. The untimely rain has worried arecanut growers in the region. Without sunshine, the growers are unable to dry the harvested arecanut.

In the last 24 hours, the district has received an average of 29.9 mm rainfall. Kadaba received the highest with 51.5 mm, followed by Belthangady with 40.2 mm rain. The district has received a total of 3,785 mm rainfall since January till date.
