Electricity and water issues mark KDP meeting, Bhatkal to get High tech bus stand

Bhatkal: Regarding the ongoing concern about the water issues and electricity problem, Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya has assured that he will definitely try his best in solving those issues until the end of his term as a MLA. He was speaking at the monthly KDP meeting held at Bhatkal Taluka Panchayat hall on Monday morning.

Addressing the officers, he said that they should strive forward to solve the water woes prevailing in the district. He reprimanded the officers for their procrastinating behaviour and warned them that such negligence will not be tolerated in the future.

Expressing his sadness, he added that 2282 houses in the Taluk have no electricity connections. Taking a dig on the central government,  he said that he has not received a single penny from the said government for the electricity and water works. The biggest achievement of the central government is transformation of Rajiv Gandhi Kotir Jyothi scheme to Deen Dayal Scheme whereas the state government has disbursed huge amount for the developmental projects.

Supporting his statements,  ZP member Albert D'Costa said about a rural village named Kanamdlo situated 500 meters away from the National Highway which has no electricity connections.  He wondered what would be the plight of rural villages located in faraway remote areas.

ZP member Sindhu Bhaskar spoke about the complaints received from the public against government hospital and expressed his dissatisfaction over the financial assistance not utilised in a proper manner. 

Announcement of high tech bus stand in Bhatkal

Mankal Vaidya announced that a  KSRTC bus depot which will be built at Sagar road and Rs 4.5 crore has been sanctioned in this regard and a hi tech bus stand will be constructed at the place of depot.  He then instructed the higher authorities to look into the problems pertaining the internet connectivity at Nemmadi Kendra, registration office as well as  government offices. He also spoke about  matters related to electricity problems at Anganwadi among other issues. 

Taluk Panchayath member Ishwar Naik, vice president Radha Ashok Naik,  Tahsildar VN Badkar, taluk panchayat officer C T Naik and others were present at the meeting.
